“Kingdom Key?” Bear asked Amy. “Key for the castle tower… hide it… we’ll read the old letter later.
No one to know I have them.” Bear turned wide eyed to Amy, “Why?
“I’ll find out. Trust you.”
Bear followed Amy to the castle kitchen. Amy opened the kitchen door to delightful smells.
“I slid the key and letter into your pocket. Stay here… help the kitchen servants.”
Amy closed the kitchen door. Bear, bewildered, walked around the gigantic kitchen.
“What can I do? Where do I start?” he asked.
Bear’s voice impossible to hear. Kitchen noises from cooking, banging utensils, washing pots and pans drowned out his voice.
Bear saw a mop. He grabbed the mop, danced and wiped water from the floor.
Still no one paid attention to Bear. They moved away as he came near with the mop.
Louder he said, “What can I do? Where do I start?”
Bear felt his pocket. Yes, the kingdom key and letter hidden.
Amy wanted him to hide them. Bear felt he was hidden not the key and letter.
No one saw him in the kitchen. He saw them but they couldn’t see him.
Maybe Amy knew he was invisible. Did she do that on purpose?
Bear stood by the back door. He opened it, smiled… greeted sunshine.
Bear danced with joy. Sunshine rained down on him
He danced so hard he fell down. He giggled, laughed and rolled on the green grass.
No one paid any attention to him. He wondered why.
“Nothing I can do… they won’t change because of me. As a man thinketh so is he… that describes them.
What if they change their thinking? Would they see him then?
Am I invisible he thought? They can’t see me… I can find the castle tower by myself!
Deep Tan for Handsome Hunk
What do I need to change so they can see me? Too much trouble to die my hair.
Get a darker tan… stay in the sunshine longer. Do It Now… he loved sunshine.”
He changed from street clothes to swim trunks. Stuffed the kingdom key and letter in the new pocket.
Bear spread out his beach blanket on the lawn. Unfolded his colorful umbrella… all the comforts of home.
His tall frosted drink sun sparkled. Final touch… sunglasses… now he was ready to tan.
Most important… a timer. Set the timer so he knew when to turn over.
Now to tan deeply. Everyone would notice him.
Multiple times Bear turned over. He would have a deep even tan.
He hydrated by drinking room temperature water. The cold tall frosted drink lonely.
Now everyone would notice him. No longer invisible… great tan… known as the handsome hunk.
Grand Dining Room
The sun caused Bear to sleep… he woke startled. Dinner hour… time to help in the kitchen.
“Now what can I do? Where can I help?”
He changed to street clothes. The Kingdom Key and letter moved to a different pocket.
Bear’s deep even tan would showcase him. He walked into the kitchen.
The servants busy in the grand dining room. Bear took a plate and filled it high from the kitchen stove.
The food quickly disappeared from Bear’s plate as he ate. The sunshine made him ravenous.
Bear noticed his skin was the same color before he went outside. The hours spent in the sunshine didn’t tan him.
He should have a sun burn. He spent almost all day outside.
“What is going on here? My world is turned upside down… nothing is as expected.”
Self Moving Chair?
Bear opened the rear kitchen door. Carefully he balanced another full plate of food and closed the door.
“Where to eat? I wish I had some company… tired of being alone,” Bear said.
Suddenly the lawn filled with talkative people. Seating appeared at a beautiful table filled with silverware, glassware and flowers.
Bear stood frozen in disbelief. Both hands held his full plate.
“As a man thinketh so is he?” said Bear. “What happened here… miracles?”
On his right appeared a servant. Bear’s full plate removed from his hands.
On his left another servant pointed to the extravagant table on the lawn. The chair moved itself away from the end of the table.
“I have company for dinner,” said Bear. “What delightful fun!”
Bear sat in the chair at the end of the table. The chair positioned itself without any aid from the servants or Bear.
Dinner Party with Orchestra
The servants seated talkative people at the table. Simultaneously a gentle wind magically placed stuffed pheasant and gourmet foods on the table.
The gentle wind swirled leaving beautiful sparkling china. Tinkling sounds created crystal clear liquid filling the glassware.
Flowing orchestra music filled the air. Birds chattered in rhythm with the mellow background noise.
Bear noticed his swim trunks disappeared. Magically he wore a tuxedo… where’s the Kingdom Key and letter?
The guests dressed in elegant dinner clothes. Dinner jackets and elegant long gowns created a spectacular dinner party on the lawn.
“What a dinner party! Wonder what we’ll talk about?” asked Bear.
Suddenly the orchestra tune became a royal promenade. A beautiful woman waltzed across the lawn.
Her splendid hair held by royal ornaments. A flowered tiara gleamed on her head.
The dining chair at the opposite end of the table silently moved away from the table. Stopped as the woman neared the table.
“It’s Princess Amy!” exclaimed Bear.
Bear ecstatic. His world perfect… his Princess Amy hosted the dinner party.
His world turned upside down again. The new changes delighted Bear.
Bear leaned back in his dining chair. He relaxed, smiled and laughed with the dinner guests.
Bear had everything he wanted. He couldn’t ask for anything more.
“Or could he ask for anything more? Where are my old friends?
What happened to CharlieCat, DennisDragon, AliGator, GinnyGiraffe and SamSeagull? Oh yes and the mice?
A small bell chimed. Bear still didn’t pay any attention to the ring!
“I’ll never see my friends again. I’ve lost them forever.”
The air turned cold. A whirlwind whipped through tearing the dining party in pieces.
The elegant tablecloth and flowers swallowed by the whirlwind. Skyward through the funnel.
Everything else followed… china, glassware and silverware. Bear’s tuxedo torn to shreds along with everyone else’s dinner jackets and gowns.
Creation Destroyed & Restored?
Amy’s tiara followed by shreds of her dinner gown into the funnel. Everyone standing in torn and shredded clothing.
Bear spoke, “I created this beautiful and perfect evening for us. Whoever you are… you cannot destroy it.
Where to eat? I wish I had some company… tired of being alone,” Bear said.
With those words Bear re-created the masterpiece dinner party that he and everyone enjoyed. He’d never speak negative again… he had too much to lose.
It was the end of a beautiful day. The sunset created a special ending.
Where is Bear’s Kingdom Key and letter? Will the key ever be used and the letter read?
How long before he finds his friends CharlieCat, AliGator, DennisDragon, GinnyGiraffe, SamSeagull and the mice?
Did Bear find the castle tower? Did Bear learn the power of words?
