“Peacock Sunrise,” said Bear. “Amy’s Castle… we’re on Bear’s Path once more!”
Bear stretched and yawned… he just woke up. The beautiful Peacock Sunrise dazzled his eyes.
“Where did you come from Peacock Sunrise? How did you get so brilliant?” asked Bear.
Peacock Sunrise had been sitting asleep on the path. She woke up… Bear had stepped on her feathers.
She stood to her feet. All her feathers unfolded… a brilliant display of greens and blues.
Shading his eyes from Peacock Sunrise Bear looked down Bear’s Path. His vision blocked by Peacock Sunrise standing still in the middle of Bear’s Path.
Peacock Sunrise quickly turned around… faced the west. The massive feathers created a turbulent wind… rolled something off Bear’s Path.
Bear’s sharp eyes spotted something rolling into deep grass on the edge of Bear’s Path. He picked it up and put it in his pocket.
Red Bird Fly!
“I’m going to do a sit/meditation. What to do with a gorgeous peacock blocking my path?” Bear said as he sat behind Peacock Sunrise.
Meerkat and red bird were restless. One chattered… the other flew around Bear’s head.
Bear stood. His meditation gave him an idea.
“You are majestic Peacock Sunrise. Would you help us… lead us down Bear’s Path to find Amy, her castle and our friends?”
“We’d follow you… Peacock Sunrise. You’d walk Bear’s Path… lead us to Amy’s Castle,” said Bear.
Peacock Sunrise said, “How do I lead you to Amy and a castle… what is that? I can’t lead to something I don’t know.”
Time to sit again. The last meditation didn’t cover this problem.
“Be still and know,” Bear told meerkat and red bird. “There’s always a way.”
“Do you want us to sit?” asked red bird. “Meerkat can sit… I’m gonna fly.”
Peacock Sunrise Shields from the Sun
“Let’s do the meditation together… sit still red bird. Have faith you can sit,” said Bear.
“The answer is simple!” All three, Bear, Meerkat and red bird quit meditating at the same time. “We need to ask her!”
Bear asked, “Will you follow us and shield us from the sun with your beautiful greenish blue feathers Peacock Sunrise? We know castles when we see one… Bear knows Amy!”
Peacock Sunrise stretched and fanned the green and blue multi colored plumage, “I’m royalty. I don’t follow anyone… I lead.”
Bear turned around to face Meerkat and red bird. As he turned he quietly groaned.
Bear walked in circles. His head down… he was thinking.
“Royalty… definitely Peacock Sunrise needs us. Peacock Sunrise needs a royal guard.
I will need to shape us into royal guards. Amy need’s royalty for the castle… Peacock Sunrise… royal guards also,” said Bear.
“We must follow Peacock Sunrise! Protection we offer… meerkat has three inch claws… red bird patrols from the sky!” said Bear.
“We can’t offend Peacock Sunrise. We are present as quiet royal guards,” said Meerkat.
“Our presence is protective?” asked red bird. “You mean protect Peacock Sunrise so she doesn’t know it?
Yes,” said Bear. “We hide what we are doing.
Red bird chimed in with his thoughts. “I can fly high over Peacock Sunrise. Peacock Sunrise will know nothing.
I’m the look out. I’m a sentry.”
Bear winced. He knew what was next.
Meerkat stood up on his two hind feet, “I’m the sentry! That’s my natural born duty.
“You wanna fight red bird… I’m ready.” Meerkat held out three inch long claws.”
Quickly Bear whispered to red bird, “Don’t tell him he is wrong. Nor anyone else!”
Bear stood between Meerkat and red bird. “Peace! No war with each other!”
Remember we are royal guards for Peacock Sunrise. We are silent sentries protecting Peacock Sunrise.
Training that’s what we need to be excellent royal guards,” said Bear. “How do I train us to be like royal guards?”
“Shhh quietly fall back… don’t walk so close to Peacock Sunrise. Remember we don’t let her know anything.”
Meerkat walked backwards quickly. Too fast… he tripped over his long three inch claws on his feet.
He rolled over backwards, reached out with his front three inch claws, pulled himself to a standing position. His head was bobbing back and forth… feeling like he hit a brass gong.
Meerkat knew he had to remain silent. This noise inside his head wouldn’t stop.
“Boing, boing, boing.” The sound and pain were driving him nuts. “Going for the river… that’ll stop it.”
Meerkat tore through the forest to the river. Peacock Sunrise didn’t hear anything.
“Relief… what I need,” his head was on fire. “This’ll put out the fiery boings!
Sssshhhhh… sssshhhh… ssshhhhh.” There was steam rising from the river. “My head feels better.”
Red bird flew overhead. He spotted meerkat dunking his head in the river.
“Your head is very large,” he said as he landed on meerkat’s shoulder. “Does this bother you?”
Meerkat said, “Ouch, ouch, ouch. That hurts… even though you are lighter than a feather!”
“Back to our training with Bear,” said meerkat. “I know I can only think one thought at a time.
The training will keep my mind off the pain. After the training I will focus on this quote ‘I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious and happy!'”
I know that my mind believes what I tell it. If I tell my mind ‘I can’t
… then it believes that… so I tell it ‘I can’.
Focus on Blue Eyes
I can do it! One inch at a time becomes a foot, one foot becomes a yard, a yard becomes a mile.”
Red bird asked Meerkat, “How’s the pain?” Quietly red bird said to himself, “I shouldn’t have asked him.”
Meerkat said, “I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious and happy!” Meerkat laughed as he said to Red Bird, “Aren’t you glad you asked me?”
Bear said, “Meerkat and red bird I am proud of you for calming down. You must have done deep breathing like I taught you… you’re not angry.”
Meerkat and Red Bird smiled at each other. Bear knew nothing of their river trip.
“Watch Peacock Sunrise. Focus on those beautiful feathers… the blue eye in the feather.
Bear watched the reactions of meerkat and red bird to Peacock Sunrise. It seemed they were mesmerized with the beauty and motion of Peacock Sunrise.
Bear laughed to himself. If this is what creates peace on Bear’s Path… great.
Meerkat and red bird were relaxed… wandering all over Bear’s Path. The beautiful colors and swaying of Peacock Sunrise hypnotized them.
The loud sound of winged feathers beating snapped meerkat and red bird from the hypnotic spell they were under. It was another peacock… it was the mate to Peacock Sunrise.
Peacock Sunrise turned to Bear, “I need to leave you now. I’ll journey on now with my mate.”
Quickly both peacocks flew into the sunset. Three sets of eyes followed the peacock’s flight over the red horizon.
Bear heard the sound of a clear small bell again. He looked around… still mystified at the sound.
Look what appeared! It’s amazing… it’s a miracle!
“Oh my goodness… it’s a castle! Is it Amy’s castle?”
Bear danced with excitement. They had found a castle… was this Amy’s?
Amy & White Stallion
The castle was hidden by the beautiful feathers of Peacock Sunrise. They had found their home because of Peacock Sunrise.
“This is exciting!” Bear asked, “Meerkat you want to dance?” as he put red bird on his shoulder.
“I can see us running up and down the halls inside the castle. Feasting with Amy at a table loaded with gourmet foods… the servants waiting on us… our every want they fulfill.
During the day the castle gate will be open. We can freely roam the castle lands.
Amy will lead us on her beautiful white stallion. We are forever happy… all together in our castle.
Meerkat, red bird walk with me. There is still some distance to go before reaching the castle gate.
We need to remember to tell Amy about the peacocks. Maybe we can give her one as a gift.
Bear suddenly remembered the object he had picked up earlier in the day. He turned it over and over after he took it out of his pocket.
Meerkat said, “Bear where did you find that? When did you find it?
It was hidden on the edge of Bear’s Path. I think Peacock Sunrise was sitting on it.
It was covered up when Peacock Sunrise‘s wings created a wind. Remember this morning?
Red bird you were almost blown over. Meerkat it ruffled your hair.
Bear that looks like a large bird egg,” said red bird. “Hmmm… Peacock Sunrise was sitting on it?”
What is this object Bear kept in his pocket all day? Is it a treasure?
BearHugs ’til our next adventure,
Amy & Bear
